(Lake County, IL 07/23/15) The Waukegan Band is inviting alumni musicians to join its ranks for its final 2015 concert to be held on Tuesday, August 4th in recognition of the Band’s 80th anniversary. Band President, Tim Reust, stated “There must be hundreds of alumni of the Waukegan Band and former Waukegan Municipal Band that may want to help celebrate our 80 years of history. The alumni are invited to bring their instruments and join us in John Philip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever”.
Interested alumni should contact the Band at email@example.com providing the approximate years they played in the Band. Their names will be noted in the August 4th program book.
The Waukegan Band will be performing its final 2015 concert at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Stiner Pavilion at Waukegan Beach, 201 Sea Horse Dr., Waukegan, Illinois. The concert’s theme will be “Stars of Stage, Screen & Disc” performed under the direction of guest conductor, Steven Foggin. The performance doubles as the Band’s fundraising concert.
For its 80th season, the Waukegan Band has presented free concerts every Tuesday night beginning June 9, 2015 until August 4, 2015. Performances start at 7:30 PM on the lakefront, overlooking the harbor and beach. Many audience members have mentioned the beauty of the site, great music and free parking.
Come to this season’s final concert. Bring a lawn chair and relax in comfort on the beautiful lakefront while listening to the music of local Lake County musicians.
