Please plan extra time to get to the Stiner Pavilion
this Tuesday, July 18 for our "Celebrating our Youth" concert.
Due to excessive rain, parts of Grand Ave. have been closed.
Washington St. is open between Milwaukee Ave and the lakefront.
We look forward to seeing you!
A community band wind ensemble non-profit. All concerts are held during summer months on Tuesday evenings, 7:30 pm at the Stiner Pavilion Festival Grounds, Waukegan Lakefront (Harbor next to the water plant) unless otherwise noted.
201 Seahorse Drive
Waukegan, IL 60085
The best concert hall on the Lake!
Our guests continue to tell us they enjoy the venue, (but the veterans dress for the natural air conditioning). Our Third Coast marina and the Chicago skyline provide the dramatic backdrop missing from inland venues.
Visit our "Dine and Donate" tab under the "Sponsor/Donor" page to participate by printing the flyers in support of the Waukegan Band on specified dates at fine local restaurants! This year Chili's in Fountain Square/Waukegan and Gurnee (7/05, 7/12, 7/19 & 7/26), as well as Louie's Restaurant (all day 06-21 including carryouts, does not include alcoholic beverages) are participating! We thank them for their community leadership.
Do you have a parent, relative or friend in a nursing home? Would they enjoy our accessible concert grounds? Per request, this season we are also offering a Waukegan Band flyer to print our 2017 season schedule, below. Share your enjoyment on bulletin boards at nursing homes, workplaces, churches, homes and businesses where appropriate!
Have you got kids in need of a videogame alternative? Teach your children well.
Play an instrument? Interested in joining?
Go to the "Auditions" tab for information. What will you do with those hours of practice and lessons?
Volunteers are welcome to assist during our concerts and year round planning process; please use the "Contact Us" tab in the right-top toolbar above.
See our pictures, slideshows and videos on the "Photos/Videos" section under the "Multimedia" tab! Your audio/visual contributions are appreciated. Send us analog or digital photos of your family or friend's performance with dates, names and returned per your instructions. Former members, didn't your Mom find your musical tour de force photogenic? Former members, band groupies and audience, can you fill the voids on our photo/video collection from the early decades and the missing years? Have you got any old programs or band rosters that we might copy for a history file? Unique rehearsal or performance memories or venues? Biographies of former directors? Longest-tenured musicians? We have generations of local musical talent to recognize. It's people making a difference in our community. For anyone who hasn't visited the Waukegan Beach or Harbor in a while, please note we have a four-part concert video to sample our summer efforts. And don't forget our Facebook or YouTube
pages...share your music enjoyment.
"We are cups, constantly and quietly being filled. The trick is, knowing how to tip ourselves over and let the beautiful stuff out."
Visit our website tabs "About" and "History" to read our story, or listen to our audio recordings on the "Audio Files" sections located under the "Multimedia" tab above. We're proud to share two original wind ensemble compositions there, one written by Joe Laird and the second, by Emma Joy Jampole, performed by the Waukegan Municipal Band.
Your mother and the weatherman were both right; it's cooler near the lake...
